A postcard that was mailed over 101 years ago back in 1905. No publishers name, or indeed of the location in Swinton (?help?)

Animated street scene postcard, posted in 1905 but can is earlier as no tram lines are showing in this view (tracks laid in 1905). No publishers name, but the caption writing looks very much like H. B series of Barnsley (Haigh brothers)

GREAT WAR MEMORIAL, SWINTON.

What a wonderful sight!, 100’s of local Swinton children celebrating  Empire Day in 1910 (when we had a Empire!), can you imagine the uproar that would happen these days if we celebrated like this waving the Union flag!?.. It would no doubt be ‘politically incorrect’ and be branded racist!.

Another postcard from the same event back in 1910,  is that the old ‘Dale & Brown’ chimneys in the background?. Published by Crowther Cox  of Rotherham for C F HURST of Swinton (as is the above card too).
